Other than my client and the homepage mentioning it, I am not seeing it available anywhere, nor mentioned in the forums.

We are no longer providing packages, only the source tarballs

http://deluge-torrent.org/downloads.php

edit. found it: after going to downloads page and looking at source, it only shows 1.1.2, but if you click on source on the left AGAIN you will be taken to ftp where you can d/l all versions including up to 1.1.3

Ouch! No more packages! Is that why I can't view any of the sections, besides comunity? I guess Ubuntu packages will be availavble on getdeb.net shortly, but since they only support Intrepid, lots of users not willing to build are going to be out of luck.

I'm not going to build it... But then I just turn deluge update "whine" off. And start using Ubuntus standard update. It should update deluge when ever new versions are released for Ubuntu.

I know it usually lags, but I really don't know how much. And does it matter? I assume that if priority security update is required, then updates will be delivered faster? Or maybe not?

Doesn't seem to be lagging too much. Synaptic Says that 1.1.2 is already available via "official channels". So I assume that 1.1.3 will be delivered soon.

Yes, it will be. The package is being sync'd from Debian now and the maintainer is just waiting on libtorrent to release 0.14.2 before getting 1.1.3 into Debian's repo.

As for your info, packages from Universe repository, such as Deluge, do not receive any kind of updates. New packages make it in only with and for the new version of Ubuntu. To get the idea, check the packages for Intrepid and Hardy, they lag quite a bit indeed.

In order to get newer Deluge packages, such as 1.1.2, one would need to use a third party repository or getdeb.net and such. 1.1.2 is currently available from Universe for Jaunty only. There is probably a good explanation for this move. Can someone point me to it.

Yeah, I'd love to hear the reasons for that too. I would guess it's a lot of work to build all the packages respectively for every version but rather than ditching the pre-build packages completely I would have loved to get a regular incremental package upgrade like ever .5 step or so. Anyway, can only wait for GetDeb to update.

the only reason for it is that andar has a god complex and can not accept that the developers of a program should provide packages for it. it is why i left deluge, and it is why things are the way they are now. i will soon take over completely, or fork, and give deluge users what they deserve, but until then, things will be tough. please stick with me as i fight to give the users what they want
