[Solved] Invisible torrents (RC3?)

I just posted a note in the development board (Better error message for torrent storage error) that may have something to do with this. I also upgraded to rc3 while rc2 was running. It didn't complain, but I don't know what might have been affected.

I did another "dumb" thing. While the torrents were running, I clicked on "No Incoming .." on the status line and selected test active port. That caused deluge to lock up and I had to terminate it through kde.

I uninstalled and and reinstalled deluge rc3 (kubuntu hardy, up to date on Centrino duo 1.6GHz) Wireless DSL or cable - 68KBs or 300+KBs). Then I told it where my torrents are. It seems to have kept my preferences somewhere. I don't see a .deluge directory, etc.

Now, when I start deluge, the number of connections goes to the max limit (currently 60, because if it's much higher my browser - firefox 3.x just hangs and can't access anything on the web), the download and upload speeds in the status line take off just like everything is normal, but the main window has no visible torrents in it. It's acting like they're there, but they're invisible.

Before all this happened, I had 10 active torrents and another 15 or so queued up.

Any ideas on what's going on or how to fix it would be appreciated.

Joe

I also suffer from "invisible" torrents.

http://forum.deluge-torrent.org/viewtop ... =8&t=13805

But restarting client fixes my case. For some reason paused torrents aren't visible anywhere, except in torrent counts on left pane.

See this screenshot, some torrents are "missing", even I have all selected: http://www.aijaa.com/v.php?i=3292511.png

I'm currently downloading at 300+KB/s and my torrent panel is completely empty - not just the names as in your case.

Can someone tell me how I can delete some of these "invisible" torrents that haven't started yet or are small, so I can get control back without losing everything?

Also, how can I tell if a download is complete (since it's invisible in deluge)? Sooner or later, I'll have to kill it and I don't want to lose anything unnecessarily. I'm wondering if I delete the torrents.state file or the whole state directory if that will fix the problem. If it will, I want to know as much as possible about what's completed and what I'll be losing before I do it.

Thanks.

Joe

Same stuff here right now.

I had SOME names in list a while a go, not all. ;) But now I got absolutely no torrents in list and still downloading 400+KB/s too. Also some of my completed downloads are now corrupted.

Seems to be quite badly working version for RC3... ;) This should be alpha stage problem. And believe me, I have had this kind of problems a lot with Deluge. But not for something like 6 months. But before that all the time.

Same problem with RC3 on Ubuntu 8.10. Reverted to RC2 and everything is fine again.

I've corrected a minor bug that could cause the torrent list to not display properly.. I think it may only effect trackerless torrents or perhaps those using classic mode.

Great. I look forward to getting it. Is there some cvs/subversion thing I should get, and if so, how?

I use classic mode because it was on by default when I installed it (originally from the kubuntu repo 0.5.x). I saw something in the faq about turning it off for some specific enhancement.

Does classic mean "old"? Should it normally be off unless it does something I really like?

When I was poking around the problem, I found ~/.config/deluge/torrents, but it was empty. When I cleaned out .config/deluge except for the state directory (faq) hoping that would help (it didn't) the torrents dir was not recreated.

Does that mean my torrents are tracker-less now? Does it matter? Can they still find seeds/peers? I don't really understand dht's, (or whatever they're called) etc. much yet?

TIA

Joe

Hi,

I too upgraded to RC3 and now my torrent list window is empty. However, like others, there seems to be downloads going on... I have not done anything to the situation as I do not wish to lose any torrents halfway downloading, so I do appreciate if someone could advise on how I can see the torrent list again, thanks!!!

Yes, our subversion server is at svn.deluge-torrent.org and you'll want to check out the 1.1.0_RC branch.

The torrents folder in ~/.config/deluge is no longer used and thus would not be created.

Most torrent files you download will include at least one tracker, but you can add torrents without a tracker (by info-hash or using a magnet uri).

This seems to happen whenever a paused torrent is added. I'm getting it in RC2, though I did downgrade from RC3. Even restarting doesn't fix it.

EDIT: I'm definitely adding torrents with a tracker so i'm not sure that is the issue. The paused torrents do show fine in thin clients and the webUi though so maybe this is related to classic mode?
