Deluge forgets my torrent preferences

whenever i shut down deluge it seems to forget my preferences where i want downloading and completed torrents to go. i thought it simply restarted with all the default settings, but the TCP port i specified (which is not the default) stays the same every time i restart deluge.
i prefer to download torrents to "/home/ryan/.Incomplete Torrents" and then use the "torrent move" plugin to move the completed torrent to "/home/ryan/Unprocessed torrents"
is there something i am doing wrong or can do to fix this annoyance?

you're right, but if you go into preferences and save, it will overwrite whatever you had saved before. you can look in ~/.config/deluge/prefs.state to be sure of what is saved
