Wow A great client got better...a couple of questions though..
1. Why is it so slow to do anything, for example clicking on a menu takes a second to long to do anything etc etc
2. It seems to have installed everything on c:/pyhton25 instead of in program files...any reason for this?
BTW I'm using a dedicated Windows Media Centre, Vista Home Premium, would love to have it back on Ubuntu but since I have moved house I do not have my Ubuntu box now and Ubuntu will not let my hardware be fully functional on this SFF machine. So unfortunatly I am having to use the Windows port.
Okay thats me done cheers!!

I'm not really sure why people are experiencing slowness in the Windows port since I haven't really used it much. Hopefully when I get my PC working again I'll give it another try on Windows.
The RC3 installer should be a bit better in terms of size and file location. Packaging on Windows is a PITA.

Im not a programmer, but it seems to me it is running from a python script which the last version did not do...i think
Does it have to compile it "on the fly"..if that is the right word?
It is acting like a java program with its slowness...sorry to be vague
The functionality is great, and will be even better im sure when the plugins are there!!
Thanks for all your hard work, to a great program!!

I could reproduce your slowness problem on vista.
I would describe it as : every ~1 second there's a ~0.2 second delay in selecting.
But i would like to know if the problem is restricted to vista or if it occurs in all windows versions.
Are you using vista?
edit: you already said that : you're using vista, any non vista users with the same problem?

Gonna confirm some of loki's findings though I'm running on Windows XP Pro SP3:-
~ The minute any connections are made (with or w/o daemon on), a very distinctly obvious heft, clunk and interface lag starts along with it. A thing that was generally unheard of back at 0.5.9.x versions?
Yup I'm on XP Pro SP3

Another annoying thing is that when I restart Deluge, the queue is messed up and I have to reorganize it again! It's really frustrating.
The open folder has been fixed.
I am not quite sure what you mean by the queue is messed up? Do the torrents not retain their queuing order? Please note that seeds do not have a queue position.
Yes!!! Torrents not retain their queuing order. After restart needs to rearrange again.
My OS: Debian (testing).
Exactly.

What, people still use Windows XP? That's so 2002! lol
Seriously though I did come here to pose another question. Any particular reason why it creates a folder in the program files, Deluge directory called "My Product Name"... (C:\Program Files\Deluge\My Program Name)? And theres 2 files in there; mfc71.dll, and mfc71u.dll. It doesn't seem like it's doing anything wrong it just seems like that's the only thing it installs there, is that the proper location for those files? Or why not with all the other files over in C:\Python25?

I think we will be addressing that with the RC3 installer, along with a smaller size.

this update is looking good.
i was messing around with the configurations, and noticed that the "max new connections per second" and "max half connections" were missing. This feature was useful since i also use emule and have to divide my half connections and new connections between the two. Will it be implimented in the finalized version?

I installed Deluge in my test installation of windows in virtualbox (yeah, it's been reduced just to that now).
Some points, hopefully helpful:
[*] Installer decided to abuse the CPU pretty badly for whatever reason.
[*] The lil cmd window popping in and out at starup isn't pretty
[*] A 'Windows Security Alert' decided to 'block some features' of a program "python" when I started Deluge. Lol, wth?
[*] Homepage button in "About" doesn't work. From what I remember, you need to do custom code in GTK to make it work (ie, call a shell command with the url...)
[*] It was quite responsive and fine, I didn't experience any slowness that others reported. This is on XP.
And, this is cross-platform, but "Avail" bugs me when I have tons of space on the screen. Can it please be "Available" and let GTK do the text cutoff when needed?
