Yes it contains the respawn command which restarts the process unless explicit stop command is issued: http://upstart.ubuntu.com/wiki/Stanzas#respawn

Upstart looks good but I've done a bit of research and since OpenSuse 11.4, upstart has been replaced with systemd. I'll do some more research and see if systemd can do the same, and if so, how.

Meanwhile, my crontab solution seems to be working reasonably well. The daemon has crashed at least a couple of times since I implemented it (about 7 hours ago), but each time I check, it is running again, and I can connect to it with the thin client.

So, at least I have a workable solution, and hopefully, won't need to change to a different client.

I'm waiting for my server's motherboard to be repaired. It still runs on OpenSuse 11.4, so I'm hoping it doesn't suffer from the libcrypto bug.

@fernandog: I suggest you start a new thread for your problem. I think some responders are confused by the title.

I was just about to reply that I/O timeout is not a problem for me, as the daemon usually crashes when I'm sleeping (as well as other times).

Then I read your post carefully and realised that your problem is that you lose connection to a still-running daemon. Maybe the problems are related, because, if I understand correctly, you started with the same problem as others on this thread, and once that problem was solved, the second problem appeared.

However, I think if you started a new thread about your specific problem - people might view it with fresh eyes. Just my suggestion.

Finally, the problem seems to be solved for my system.

I managed to find updates for libtorrent-rasterbar and python-libtorrent-rasterbar on OpenSuse community repositories. I'm now running libtorrent 0.16.11.0, and the daemon has been up for about 18 hours. I've even enabled encryption again.

I suggest that the download link for OpenSuse be updated. As far as I can tell, the current one is only for deluged and is incompatible with any deluge-gtk or deluge-web that I could find.

Here are the download links for the packages that I am using now:
deluged: http://software.opensuse.org/ymp/home:d ... ery=deluge
deluge-gtk: http://software.opensuse.org/ymp/home:d ... deluge-gtk
deluge-web: http://software.opensuse.org/ymp/home:d ... deluge-web
libtorrent-rasterbar7: http://software.opensuse.org/ymp/devel: ... rasterbar7
python-libtorrent-rasterbar: http://software.opensuse.org/ymp/devel: ... -rasterbar

All of these should be 1 click install for OpenSuse 12.3. For anyone using an earlier distro, you would need to search the OpenSuse build service.

At least in the case of libtorrent-rasterbar7, I notice there are builds for Debian 7.0, Fedora 18 and Ubuntu 13.04 available. Hope that helps someone else.

Unfortunately, I still can't find an OpenSuse binary for deluge 1.3.6 - if I do, I will post that link as well.

Bump.
Did anyone find a decent solution to this one? I saw someone mentioning not having enough RAM for deluge to run, this was on raspbian.
