Im glad you wer able to do that, because when I went back into synaptic, there were no other versions there that I could even force. They vanished. They were they before 0.5.9.2, and now, puff, gone :roll:

I was able to fix my deluge 0.5.9.2 install under Ubuntu 8.04 64bit by creating the file:
/usr/share/applications/deluge-torrent.desktop

With the following contents:

Code: Select all

[Desktop Entry]
Version=1.0
Name=Deluge BitTorrent Client
Name[ca]=Client de BitTorrent Deluge
Comment=Transfer files via Peer to Peer
Comment[ca]=Compartiu fitxers d'igual a igual mitjançant el protocol BitTorrent
Comment[fr]=Client Bittorrent écrit en PyGTK
Comment[pt_BR]=Cliente Bittorrent escrito em PyGTK
Exec=deluge
Icon=deluge
Terminal=false
Type=Application
Categories=Network;
StartupNotify=true
MimeType=application/x-bittorrent;

Same here. To answer the question: Right-click on the desktop, select "Create Launcher", and use "deluge" in the "command" field. It should add the proper icon automatically.
Thanks for the help!!!
creating the icon worked but when I clicked on the short cut it came up with this warning:

It should be fixed in 5.9.3 since it's release was specific to that flaw.
