The deluge-client module I linked to (not the native one) uses the actual RPC protocol, and the deluge-web-client I linked to uses the JSON-RPC (as does my script)...
But yes, there is quite a bit of complexity in the RPC protocol itself when coding from scratch that the JSON-RPC and other modules abstract away.
In short, there are loads of options and ways to interface already, it shouldn't be hard to interact with it as you demonstrated mhertz, just takes knowing the flow.
Need some help troubleshooting deluged connections
Re: Need some help troubleshooting deluged connections
Despite you deleting your most recent post in this thread, you made it and I've read it. We are not ignoring your problem. We've addressed them step by step as you've given enough information to explain them. You're not providing any information specific to a networking issue or network setup. So far you've only provided us with information about your OS setup, which we've explained to you. You didn't even know how to edit the hosts list in the first place, and I answered that, and now you know the differences between the user mode and systemd config files. You've been focusing on deluge-console and this script the entire thread. Now you want to rail at us because YOU can't get the webui working either?
But it's all good, if you want to yell at us for not solving your problem you aren't adequately giving details about, I guess I'll just let you get some one else here to try and help you. I'm clearly not meeting your requirements of quality for FREE support, and I won't be yelled at.

Re: Need some help troubleshooting deluged connections
So you want to hold a grudge on a text I deleted, so I could rephrase my problem more accurately because you don't like that I emphasized the problem I've been trying to solve by putting it in all caps?ambipro wrote: ↑Mon Nov 25, 2024 8:39 am Despite you deleting your most recent post in this thread, you made it and I've read it. At every instance no one has actually addressed my very specific problem that the daemon is not responding to the connection attempts.
I mentioned it numerous times. I emphasized it since it was ignored over and over to focus on things that were not the problem.
Quality would be actually being clear on the problem and addressing that.
If you prefer not to help, for whatever reason, that's your perogative.
I wouldn't need the help if the documentation to pull me into a circle of dissatisfaction.
I'd pay for the support if I actually received support for the problem that I have, rather than the one you want to work on.
But hey this is why people choose to pay for real software than poorly documented OSS.
Just do better documentation and people won't type ALL CAPS after spending a week+ working on a problem that should be fairly simple to troubleshoot with help from the developers.
Thanks for taking the time you did. I learned some new things.
In the meantime, I'll see about using something other than Deluge, and remember that "the devs in the forum are sensitive so be careful how you emphasize your communication" even after you adjust your communication because you can see it may be interpreted in a negative way.
Re: Need some help troubleshooting deluged connections
Actually I've been trying to resolve this problem since I joined the forum Nov 10. It's Nov 25 and I'm nowhere closer to getting help troubleshooting the connection to the daemon. But apparently I'm going to get NO help because people hold grudges over nothing.
Re: Need some help troubleshooting deluged connections
You are not entitled to my help by merely showing up, and I am not required to help anyone I do not wish to engage with. I told you you could receive help from someone else. I am not the only person on this forum, and I am once again not required to answer any and every question posted. This is not a job, and you are not my employer, and you are and have been ungrateful and rude to me now. You don't get to pretend like you didn't say something just because you clicked the delete button.
You've shifted your focus from problem to problem, not addressing the real issue because you didn't even know how to use deluge-console in the first place or what config files you were using. But sure, if you want to sit here and victimize yourself after attacking me that's YOUR prerogative I suppose. I decided to step away because you were lashing out at me in your post, which you deleted in the hopes that I would not see, so obviously you realized how ridiculous and rude it was.
The entire forum did not refuse to help you. The person you attacked who has spent time trying to help you decided that someone else would be better suited going forward. That's one of the risks you take when you attack the person offering their time for free to assist you with a problem you and you alone are responsible for.
You can rest assured, my deluge-console, webui, and RPC all work perfectly fine. There is nothing wrong with the software.
Good luck.
