One trick that might help you is to add several torrents at once and then you can set the download location for one of them and then click apply to all torrents.

I have libtorrent 1.0.5 as well, but no backup files. Hopefully that is something someone was working on for the next update.

Three weeks later, fuckin' deluge did it again. This may be the end of my relationship with deluge.
