Where'd they go?

Upon a restart of the daemon, all of the torrents downloaded in the previous session disappear. Is this desired behavior? And if so, is there a way to turn this off?

I'm running gentoo linux, with 1.1.9 of the daemon built with gtk and no libnotify support. Also, I've sandboxed deluged to it's own user, I don't know if that' relevant. There's nothing in the log.

It helps if the state directory is writable by the deluged user...
