Large torrent library - constant CPU usage

Post by avatarl »

OK so I managed to get some 300 torrents on Deluge. Only 3 are seeding, the rest are paused. Problem is that when I have the main window open and all torrents are displayed (All filter), I'm getting a constant CPU usage of around 20-30%. If I choose a label with fewer torrents, choose filter with few torrents or minimize (to taskbar or systray), the spikes cease so I suppose it has something to do with the large torrent library being there. I know that on 900 paused torrents I tried before, I got a huge 50% constant CPU usage (one full core in my C2D system). Is it a known bug? Is there a workaround other than not displaying the whole library?

Yes, I need the library. uTorrent currently has 724 loaded torrents and doesn't break a sweat. I'm on Win 7 RC x64, using avast.

I've addressed some of this performance issue in 1.2.. Not really sure how it would perform with that many torrents, but there should be a noticeable increase in performance, especially when run in classic mode.
