Not connecting to seeders

Just installed Deluge (on Vista) after using uTorrent but my problem is that the seeders and peers are showing but its not connecting to any seeders and only a few peers out of the thousands and there is no download even tho its uploading fine, the port is open on the router and I've checked the port thru preferences and it comes up as ok (incidentally there seems to be a glitch with the port option as it sometimes uses a random port even tho I have set it to just one port???). The same torrent works fine in uTorrent.
So what am I doing wrong.

Actually in progress it just says seeding , does it think its already downloaded???

If it says seeding, then yes.

So how do i make it not think its downloaded coz it isnt

You could try a forced recheck and make sure the file priorities are set properly.
