Deluge
So I started looking for alternatives.
Tried many and none of them are good enough
Azureus is the only real alternative and I don't like it's interface and it needs java.
Halite looks promising but has a long way to go.
So now I tried deluge 0.59 and I must say it comes very close to what I need.
Kind on resources, easy to use, accepted by private trackers.
My findings so far>
When I rightclick a completed torrent it disconnects to check the files, very anoying especially with private torrents. Is there a way to disable this?
Unfinished files need an extension, something like .del (a must have feature imo, is there a experimental plugin maybe?).
Resources are not as low as utorrent, hope 0.60 improves that.
There is no popup when a torrent is finished, I used the plugin but it doesn't attract enough attention for me.
A stop button would be nice.
Columns need 'date' 'tracker' and an option to remove the number. Also it doesn't remember my preferred order. An option to split the percentage and the status is a must for me.
An option to directly choose the download location via a pulldown menu.
Choosing your own colors or skins would be nice.
Selecting multiple torrents via dragging left mouse comes in handy.
Stabilty on xp is a problem. I had several shutdowns, may be related to other proggies in use eg Audiochecker.
Sometimes when adding a torrent Deluge doesn't open or freezes.
I'll stick with Deluge for a while but if Utorrent solves the list wiping I'll go back.
It's quite possible some options are already present in Deluge 0.59, haven't been using it for very long.
