System Tray in GNOME 48 not working

Post by Nethshan »

Im using Deluge 2.2.0 Flatpak with the Appindicator and Kstatusnotifier extension (the same one used by default on Ubuntu) on GNOME 48. I have also enabled system tray icon in Deluge's preferences and minimise to tray on close. Unfortunately, it appears to not work. I have other apps that appear on the systray but not this. However, surprisingly, it appears under background apps in the quick settings menu (look at the attachment). While this may be sufficient, it is not intuitive like the system tray extension. Hope this gets fixed.

Hello Nethshan,

Often applications made in Flatpaks have a bit of their own way of implementing on your desktop. Each desktop environment has their own application development UI.

It could be that it might be a bug, but i have also noticed that if i might open an application with the terminal, so i also see the verbose, suddenly it does work correctly. I use KDE Plasma myself en i have experienced this with both Deluge-GTK as well as steam. Have you tried experimenting with that also to try open Deluge using the terminal and see if you get the same result.
