Deluge 2.2.0 detected as Trojan

Post by deluge_user334 »

I am a first time Deluge user. Whenever I download Deluge executable from the official website it is detected as trojan and removed by Windows Defender, even virustotal detects it as malware. I have attached screenshot to help me diagnose. I am also attaching link to virustotal. Thank You.

False positives. There have been previous posts about this.

It's open source, if you're uncomfortable stick with 2.1.1 until the detections are sorted, but you can read them and the are all "Generic" or Hueristics" which are basically non-signature and "I think this because of potential behavioral qualities" type of things.

There's no viruses in Deluge.

I get that open source may get flagged as unknown or as a false positive for various reasons for a while, but it's been 8 months now since the release of deluge-2.2.0-win64-lt2.0-setup.exe and 25 of 60 services are still reporting a trojan - that's pretty unusual. I'm not suggesting that the repo has a trojan in it, or that there is anything malicious going on. But it makes you wonder about the build environment that created the file.
