PORT ISSUE

Post by MJS1996 »

My deluge application is saying port issue in the bottom right corner. I have checked my Windows Fire Wall and deluge has inbound rules all look normal. I have checked my route settings and there is also no restriction there and I have full access. I have uninstalled and reinstalled deluge 2 time with the older version and newer. Port settings on deluge set to random and when testing active port a triangle with a explanation point within.
Can't seem to work it out. I am not the best with Computer lingo so please be gentle with me

Hi there,

I had this same issue and have made a post regarding this with a supposed fix. To summarize:
If you use any 3rd party anti-virus applications such as Avast, do the following:
1) Go into the anti-virus settings and disable the Anti-virus' own firewall.
2) Close all applications that are using the internet
3) Manually open and run the Deluge executable (not the thin client 'deluged)
4) You should be met with the "Windows Firewall has some features of this app". Check the "private" unless needed otherwise.
5) Deluge should open, go into preferences > Check Active Port. You should get a checkmark instead of the annoying triangle.

I personally tried this with Deluge still open from step one, but I assume the instructions listed is the better way. I also downloaded and seeded a newer, more demanded torrent. Turns out I not only had port-forwarding issues, but nobody wanted the torrents I was seeding lol.

If you do not use any 3rd party anti-virus and simply rely on Windows Defender, you may need to manually allow the program to perform through Windows Defender's Allow App's function.

Again, this is all experimental- I hope this fix works for anyone else suffering the same problem. I hope a real fix is offered for this problem. Much love.
Some VPN's do not allow port-forwarding and this may be your issue, you may also need to check if your network is in the 'trusted' state as networks being set to 'untrusted' can cause port issues too. Also, run 'ncpa.cpl' and disable any unneeded network connections as it is possible deluge is attempting to utilize the wrong connection. This can happen if you use virtualization software like VMware and stuff.
