How to download away from home

Post by Astarothbcn »

Hi! I'm new with this client. I have a deluge on a ds224. I have installed via synnocomunity package
Is it possible to add downloads while away from home and off the network? With my android mobile.

Hi Astarothbcn,

Yes it is indeed possible. However i would strongly advice you to configure wireguard tunnel (vpn) first. Use Duckdns for Dynamic DNS if you dont have your own domein.

If you have wireguard configured (i am not sure if it is available on your ds224) or maybe you have other small devices running within your network (like a raspberry pi or any other single board computer). Then connect with your phone to your network at home (through wireguard) and then you can approach all your devices on your network.

This way you also have your security needs met.

To take me as an example ( i have http (port 80) website redirect https (port 443) website, deluged (uploading torrents) and Wireguard configured for port forwarding. Thats it and no other port forwarding is needed.

On my tablet, my phones and even my laptop i have Wireguard configured to be able to connect to my home network at home (through wireguard). I can literately do everything as if i am at home. Even turning on and off my server.
