seeding a lot of torrents makes internet connection unusable

Post by luksak »

Hey there!

Thank you for finally creating the perfect torrent client! This is really amazing. Obviously this is my first post here, but there are many others to come.

I installed Deluge on my unRAID server. I use it to trigger torrent downloading at home using Google Drive from remote locations. And these torrents should be seeded afterwards for some time. Yesterday I added 120 torrents from my old torrent client (bye bye uTorrent!) and let them seed overnight. I set the amount of active torrents to be infinite, limited the top download and upload speed to reserve about 25% for other traffic. The rest of the settings should be at their defaults. I tried to forward the incoming port on my router, but currently still shows the warning sign. I am using a NETGEAR WNDR4000 and I am on a 20k internet connection. After leaving Deluge do its job very well for a few hours it is still uploading and downloading as usual. But using the internet connection for any other purpose becomes impossible. What might be causing this?
