ThinClient – Announcing with local or remote IP?

Post by XPd8XH »

hello,

i was wondering if anybody could tell me whether, when using the ThinClient, the server IP or the local IP of the
user accessing deluge gets logged by trackers? i have noticed that my (local) firewall logged a connection attempt
to a tracker from the ThinClient/deluge-python; i was always under the impression that everything would be
tunnelled through the server? was i wrong?

thanks in advance :)

Most of the communication to the trackers is through the deamon, so normally the trackers should ever only know the public IP if the machine running the daemon. One exception would be if you add a torrent by url in the GTK client. Did you do anything special before the connection attempt?
When reporting issues, please include any relevant information such as OS (and version), python version (for Windows users this depends on which Deluge installer was used), Deluge version and plugin version.
