High cpu usage during download

Hi!

I'm using lastest version of deluge (1.3.6) on Linux Mint 13. pygtk 2.24.0 and libtorrent 0.1.6.7 from deluge-ppa

During download my cpu raise to 70% or more. I've no speed limit and max connections per torrent is setted to 100. Max slot to 4.

What can be that make my cpu usage so high?

Is this just when torrents are downloading or is it unrelated in the current state of the torrents? How many torrents do you have?

Now I've two shared torrents and no active downloads, but cpu is around 70%

Can you change to thin client / daemon mode and check which (of deluge/deluged) uses all the CPU?

Ok, using the thin client, i see this values

deluged 70% cpu
/usr/bin/deluge 3% cpu

That is just terrible. Could you try to clear the state directory (~/.config/deluge/state) and see if the issue reappears? if you need to keep your current torrents, just move the state dir and create a new empty one.

I clean the state directory. After that i've downloaded some files, and deluge acts normally. CPU is under 20%. What have caused it?

Hello!
High CPU usage is a problem under Windows 7 x64 as well with Deluge 1.3.6
Constant 10-12% cpu usage without any torrents, and with seeding torrent (with 0 peer tho) either.
I tried to delete the state files from Appdata/Romaing/deluge folder, but the problem has been still persists.
