downloads stall when moving completed torrent

I've noticed in Deluge 1.3.4, and in previous versions, that when a large download finishes and moves it to the completed directory, the other downloads stop until the move is completed. Is this a normal function or can somethin be done to fix this? I've got Xubuntu 11.10, dowloads start on a 3 disk raid 5 and moves the completed torrents to a 5 disk raid 5.

Moving files on the same filesystem takes virtually no time, moving across filesystems - quite a lot of time, is there a reason why you don't download torrents to the same filesystem they will end up when completed? The only thing that comes to my mind and the reason why I use a similar setup and have the same problem is that deluge, or rather libtorrent, used @#$@# sparse files and caused a hellish fragmentation, but this is supposed to be fixed now (must check)
