UPnP still isnt working, no incoming connections

Post by Polygon »

I thought the point of UPnP is to make it so that i dont have to mess with port forwarding, and the program will talk with my router and forward the correct ports automatically...

well i dont think its working for me at least... when i download a torrent i get fine download/upload speeds, but the second it finishes, my upload rate goes to like 5 kb/s up, and slowly all the peers disconnect from me because im like not uploading anything. According to the network health plugin, it says that there are "no incoming connections"

and then a minute later everything drops to 0, 0 peers, 0 seeders, 0 upload rate.......

i set the port to random, and i do have UPnP enabled, and i know i get fine upload speeds in other bittorent programs like uTorrent in windows and Azuereus... so everything SHOULD work.... any suggestions on why its not? =/

I set the router (DLink DIR 655) to "Enable UPnP" and I set Deluge (0.5.8.2 on Gutsy 7.10 - 64 bits) to use Random Ports and to use the "UPnP" network extra option. I restarted Deluge, but I still get the "No incoming connections" when the Network Health Monitor is enabled. The Test Active Port said the TCP port is closed.

At some point I saw the network status "OK", at that time the previous torrent was completed (downloaded 100%) but then I started a new torrent and the status went back to "No incoming connections".

Any idea how to check if there is a problem with the UPnP router or is there anything else I could try?

Thanks,
Alex

if you know your way around, you could download libtorrent, compile it and run the "test_upnp" that's included with it. if you're not an advanced user, dont try that. you could always forward the port on your router manually

I had a try but that jam thing took too much time to make it work, so I ended up forwarding the ports. I'd still like to investigate this, so I'm open to suggestions.
