Centos 5 - help

Post by sabretache »

I'm trying to get Deluge operational on a remote Centos 5 VPS.

Yum reports it as installed OK. However

1. I can't find a deluge config file anywhere
2. there is an executable named 'deluge' in ~/usr/bin/ which returns a 'could not open display' error if executed
3. there is no 'deluged' , 'deluge-web', 'deluge-gtk' or 'deluge-console' anywhere.

I need to get the Web ui operational. I can find masses of files that are clearly part of the package but none of the above so I'm stuck.

Any help much appreciated

What version of deluge are you using? The latest is 1.3.1.

Hmmm - Yum reports 0.5.9.0-1.el5.rf - x86_64 architecture. So I clearly need the later version.

I got it from Dag Apt Repository, http://dag.wieers.com/apt/ and it's the newest version there.

Not sure how to go about installing the latest without using Yum

That is quite out of date, maybe you should contact the maintainers about that.

The current solution would be to build and install from source: http://dev.deluge-torrent.org/wiki/Installing/Source
