[SOLVED] 1.2.2 Can't connect to host

Post by steve096 »

I've run Deluge for as long as I've used Linux and love this program to death, but 1.2.2 has officially stumped me. Every time I try to connect to the host in the connection manager after running the program, this is what the terminal displays.

Code: Select all

Update:
I enabled the program to keep a log, this is what it returns:

Code: Select all

[ERROR ] 11:30:20 main:216 This version of Deluge requires libtorrent >=0.14.9.0!
Traceback (most recent call last):
  File "/usr/local/lib/python2.6/dist-packages/deluge-1.2.2-py2.6.egg/deluge/main.py", line 209, in start_daemon
    Daemon(options, args)
File "/usr/local/lib/python2.6/dist-packages/deluge-1.2.2-py2.6.egg/deluge/core/daemon.py", line 136, in __init__
    from deluge.core.core import Core
  File "/usr/local/lib/python2.6/dist-packages/deluge-1.2.2-py2.6.egg/deluge/core/core.py", line 36, in <module>
    from deluge._libtorrent import lt
  File "/usr/local/lib/python2.6/dist-packages/deluge-1.2.2-py2.6.egg/deluge/_libtorrent.py", line 60, in <module>
    check_version(lt)
  File "/usr/local/lib/python2.6/dist-packages/deluge-1.2.2-py2.6.egg/deluge/_libtorrent.py", line 53, in check_version
raise ImportError("This version of Deluge requires libtorrent >=%s!" % REQUIRED_VERSION)
ImportError: This version of Deluge requires libtorrent >=0.14.9.0!
So apparently I don't have a new enough version of libtorrent. I'm looking through the repositories in synaptic and the only version of libtorrent I see is 0.12.2, how would I go about finding and installing 0.14.9 or higher?

you should use the Deluge PPA repository and disable GetDeb repo if you have it

in synaptic uninstall all deluge package then install package named deluge as this will install latest versions of deluged, deluge-common and deluge-gtk

I completely removed all libtorrent and deluge related packages with synaptic, went into my sources file and deleted the deluge and getdeb repositories, readded the deluge repositories, and downloaded only the deluge package (and the packages that are required with it), and I still get the same error while running the program in a terminal and in a log file. Also, when downloading just the deluge package, it only required deluge-common, deluge-gtk, python-libtorrent, and libtorrent-rasterbar5 to be installed with it, not deluged.

what OS are you using?

you are still getting the libtorrent error in your logs?

you will need deluged to actually run deluge, please check /usr/bin/deluged exists

I'm using Ubuntu (karmic) and have removed deluge* and cleared out any dodgy repositories and added the deluge ones and then installed deluge and ensured that deluged was in /usr/bin/ - it was however..

I am also having trouble - If I start deluge from the CLI I get this

Code: Select all

lotharmat you have a different problem and should create a new topic but what command are you using to actually run deluge and can you check the synaptic manager that the version match these:

deluge-gtk 1.2.2
deluged 1.2.2
deluge-common 1.2.2
python-libtorrent 0.14.10
libtorrent-rasterbar5 0.14.10

Ubuntu 9.04, after reinstalling everything fresh, i still get the error in the log:

Code: Select all

[ERROR ] 13:53:01 main:216 This version of Deluge requires libtorrent >=0.14.9.0!

ImportError: This version of Deluge requires libtorrent >=0.14.9.0!
I have the following packages installed:

deluge-gtk 1.2.2
deluged 1.2.2
deluge-common 1.2.2
python-libtorrent 0.14.10
libtorrent-rastabar5 0.14.10

and deluged is now installed after I installed it seperately.

i tested this on a virtualbox jaunty and it was installed with no issues.

what is the result of these commands (may need installing first):
apt-show-versions libtorrent-rasterbar5
apt-show-versions deluge
