Hello,
I'm a new Deluge user, today I downloaded the 1.2.0-rc3 release from http://download.deluge-torrent.org/windows
then I installed it on a clean Windows XP box and started downloading the last Ubuntu .iso
After a few minutes, my AVG antivirus (Free Edition 8.5.424) popped up with a message saying "Connected to mail.apswaco.com",
and this showed up in the logs:
3.11.2009 13:58:50 AutoPOP3(10110): Connection from process 3368
3.11.2009 13:58:50 AutoPOP3(10110): Connection from 127.0.0.1:1433
3.11.2009 13:58:50 AutoPOP3(10110): Client connesso
3.11.2009 13:58:52 AutoPOP3(10110): Connected to mail.apswaco.com:110
3.11.2009 13:59:04 AutoPOP3(10110): Il client ha chiuso la connessione
3.11.2009 13:59:05 AutoPOP3(10110): Client disconnesso
translation:
"Client dis/connesso" = "dis/connected client"
"Il client ha chiuso la connessione" = "connection closed by client"
At that time, process 3368 was actually Deluge.
According to the antivirus this was not a dangerous process, but I'd like to better understand what's happening and why Deluge connects to apswaco.com / Healthland's mail servers. I already googled about this but I did not find any useful information.
I'm not a Windows expert so I may be missing something basic here - please understand.
Thanks in advance!
@ Deluge devs:
Deluge is an awesome app. Thanks for it!
Deluge 1.2.0-rc3 connecting to apswaco.com mail servers?
Re: Deluge 1.2.0-rc3 connecting to apswaco.com mail servers?
It could be that you received a peer from a tracker with that ip and port.. So deluge tried to connect to it thinking it was a bittorrent peer.
