WebUI plugin is gone after a system reboot

Post by Locutus »

I did a fresh install of XeroLinux (Arch based) with the Plasma desktop, set it up and installed all my apps including deluge. The issue is whenever I restart the system I notice that the WebUI for Deluge is no longer in the righthand column and has to be added back. Deluge version 2.1.1, libtorrent 2.0.8.0. Any idea what might be causing this issue? Thanks

Can someone please take a look at this and maybe make a suggestion on what they think might be the issue. Thanks

I'm not sure I can help, but could you please elaborate upon what the issue is thanks. I mean what is that right hand column where web-ui missing? Some app launcher or sys tray? How you add it back?

Sorry I've never used KDE.

Regardless, have you enabled the web-ui systemd service, and deluged's, which comes with the arch deluge package, or is it the webui plugin you enable in deluge preferences.

Edit: Sorry your thread title and added file-contents obviously answers my last question. You need enable the systemd service for it starting at startup, and for deluged, unless you instead setup main deluge app to auto start somehow.

In terminal run: 'sudo systemctl enable deluged deluge-web'

sorry lefthand column.

As for the systemd service I think you're confusing the actual web client with the webui plugin in the Deluge desktop app itself.

I'm sorry but I don't understand. Could you please explain in bigger detail as apparently I'm an idiot. I know the web-ui plugin, which needs gtk-client running as far as I remember though could be wrong and thought this was issue, but apparently not. I don't know neither what should be in left-hand KDE column, or what even represent honestly. I understand if you prefer waiting for other more qualified help instead of walking me through this.

Suddenly I think I understand, so restart of deluge after reboot and plugin gets disabled. Feel pretty stupid now lol. Enable web-ui, close deluge, start again, restart computer to test. I think restart/close on KDE doesn't gracefully kill deluge, hence doesn't get to save it - I don't see enabled plugins neither in core.conf, not even empty setting strangely, which should be there regardless.

Before thinking off how overcome this in general, meaning Google it when have time/motivation, then I'll post back if having something to add. Close deluge manually in meantime before reboot/poweroff as workaround. Sorry for being dense again.

OK thanks for the input. Appreciate you at least trying to help. I will try rightclicking Deluge in the systray and quitting before doing a restart and see what I get. Thanks again.

Thanks for the suggestion of ending Deluge before I reboot it seems to be doing the trick. I've tested in 2 Arch based OS's that I was having the problem in and the WebUI plugin stays after reboot. Thanks again.
