Does deluge access the disk for seeded torrents even if no one tries to download them?

Hi,

Just a quick one, I was trying to limit the time a raid array of mechanical hard drives I have is on/spinning.

I noticed with deluge seeding, the hard drive never goes to sleep and it appears to be Deluge keeping it awake.

No one has attempted to download the torrents. Is there some reason why Deluge is periodically checking the files in a seeded torrent, and is there a way to turn this off?

Thanks for any replies.

Hi,

Yes for integrity status and tracker update. Delete a torrent directly on the file system and Deluge will shortly after give you an error. That's one of the possible access time when seeding w/o uploading.

From my own experience if the goal is to spare lifetime of your drives it won't this way. Let them run/turn all the time with the minimum stop start will make them last far more. (just my 2 cents ;) )
