I was wondering if I can use deluge like that person use rtorrent at the end of this tutorial https://www.pantz.org/software/openvpn/ ... rding.html
I was hoping to do it with /usr/bin/deluge --args=ARGS but I dont know what args it take.

I tried to "split tunneling" a couple of weeks ago, with deluge traffic being redirected through VPN and the rest of the internet traffic through normal connection, and it seems to work "somewhat" OK! Not fully though...

Initially, I was using my Raspberry Pi (running Raspbian Buster) as the Deluge server with a VPN. All the internet traffic was passing through VPN (browsing AND deluge traffic) while deluge, using the iface-watch plugin, was forced to use explicitly the VPN connection so that in case VPN disconnected... torrent traffic would stop! All worked fine like that. The only issue I had was that I wasn't able to access my machine from outside my network.

What intrigued me was to try and split the traffic so that normal stuff (like browsing, remote access etc) was passing through my ISP connection (using interface eth0) while only deluge was to use the VPN connection (using tun0)! This is called "split tunneling".

I don't know for sure but its possible that having deluge already setup caused a "little mess" . Normal traffic had no issue but deluge seemed to experience some. Trackers often presented errors (error cannot assign requested address, error connection timed out). While I wasn't totally unable to download torrents, often the d/l speed seemed low as the number of incoming connections was low and other times the downloads only started after I 've reboot the Pi.

What I've tried and seemed (I am no expert) to somewhat work for splitting the traffic was this post in reddit (by locutusofborg780) :

Another guide that seems rather complete is :

I will give this one a try soon as I am thinking of reinstalling Deluge 2.0
