associate deluge with torrents and magnets

hi everyone,
my problem is simple deluge 2 under fedora 31 is not associating with torrents nor magnets, tried to associated them in the options and in the fedora association page but with no result at all
on the contrary if i right click on a torrent and select open with deluge, deluge correctly open the torrent file, so it's doable, it's just not working...
considering prior to fedora 31 i had transmission in 30 (31 was out this week) maybe i need to reset the associations in some way?
