Access to Deluged when connected to VPN

Trying to connect to my deluged server via the web interface when it's connected to vpn doesn't work. I understand that this has something to do with the fact that the Linux machine is using VPN while my other local computers are not. Is there an easy way to get around this?

I got around this by configuring an nginx docker container as a reverse proxy to deluge-web

I had some kind of a similar problem, I tried one of these vpn from this article: hide my IP, switching to PureVPN helped.
