Hi,

I've made a fresh install of latest deluge Beta and I'm having an issue I've never had.

My download setup has a folder for downloads in progress and one for the completed downloads, I've always had this kind of setup and worked like a charm.

Now every time deluge moves something from a folder to another it also deletes the original parent directory.

e.g.

- Torrent x is downloading. Data is in /mnt/500GB/dwdir/progress_download
- Torrent x download is complete, deluge moves it in /mnt/500GB/dwdir/finished_download
- /mnt/500GB/dwdir now contains only "finished_downloads", "progress_downloads" has been deleted.

This happens with every folder i move a torrent from, even if I move it manually.

Into my preferences I've setup:

Download to: /mnt/500GB/dwdir/progress_download
Move completed to: /mnt/500GB/dwdir/finished_download

I've used this setup for years...

Is there some settings I'm not aware or is just something that has to be fixed?

Still present in dev194, I’m fixing it using Monit for now.

I assume that the progress_download is empty after moving? There is code that will cleanup empty directories so perhaps it's a bit too eager and it's afaik the same in 1.3.

Can you try creating a random file in the directory to see if it will prevent removal.

Yes the folder is empty. I’ll try to put something in there.

Edit: if the folder is not empty it doesn’t get deleted. For now is enough as workaround but would be interesting understand how to set it up correctly.

I know this thread is old but im having the same issue on Deluge 1.3.15 installed on Ubuntu Server 18.04.4 LTS.

Is the same workaround working?

Me too! I'm surprised this hasn't been fixed yet.

Why is this still not fixed until now?! The workaround works but it's just silly why the deluge devs can't fix this very simple bug.
