AutoRemovePlus plugin not working as it should

Hi,
When installing the plugin 'AutoRemovePlus' I add the .egg file into the deluge/plugins folder and the plugin does appear in the list of plugins available on the web client, but upon ticking the plugin and pressing apply and ok, it does not appear once the settings screen is reopened.
I have also tried to install the plugin via the web client but face the same issue.
I am using Ubuntu Server 16.04.
I am using Deluge version: 1.3.12
