Slower download with multiple peers

so i was downloading something and i noticed that when the torrent first started it was fast and was downloading from a single person, then other peers connected and my speed went way down so i tried again and indeed it was faster

is there something i should change in the settings? or is there something i can do so it wont slow down if i'm downloading from multiple peers?
