Status of SOCKS5 proxy in Deluge?

Postby preacher37 » Mon Jan 12, 2015 7:32 am

I've seen some back and forths on this board, and I wanted to see if Deluge was any closer to having a functional support for SOCKS5 with libtorrent 0.16 -- I've enabled SOCKS5 on Deluge 1.3.11 (libtorrent but my "real" IP is still showing up with a torrent tester ( I'm on a Raspberry Pi that more or less chokes on OpenVPN (also, I'd like to have one Deluge instance proxied and another that is not, and AFAIK I don't have custom control with OpenVPN to do that without a LOT of work), so I'd prefer to simply set the proxy settings in one of the Deluge instances.

Any ideas on how to get the SOCKS5 proxy working?

as far as i know the proxy support in deluge relies a lot on the development in libtorrent. i think the proxy support in deluge is not a top priority feature.

to get an impression, have a look at the open bugs or feature requests and you'll see that there is quite some work to do to have a really reliable proxy functionality...
