Awesome cheers mhertz, I was slowly landing on that conclusion that incoming port forwards are not required at all. Does that include the 4433 port?
Now I am interested in the technical of socks5, and how that traffic can enter my network.
Obviously When I register with the tracker I am effectively allowing traffic to come back to me via that socket???
I will do some learning.
Thanks again.
Proxy Settings Explanation?
Re: Proxy Settings Explanation?
You're welcome. Yes, no need to forward port 4433. Yes, with socks5, then all traffic flows between the setup tunnel, and everything is done through the proxy server and tunneled back to you through the socket.
Re: Proxy Settings Explanation?
Hence why the proxy server is a specialist in P2P, and not a standard proxy server.
I did note yesterday that the proxy Auth is not encrypted, it is clear text. So A man in the middle attack is possible. Hence why A Con and Proxy would be best.
