0.5.7.1-2 Windows only bug-fix release

Post by markybob »

This is a Windows only release, as no real code has changed and no features have been added. This is just a minor fix release to try to get our Windows client working a bit more up to par with our Linux client.
Changes:
*Fix about/credit window
*Close dbus-daemon-deluge.exe in Vista
*Fix some alignment in Preferences

Enjoy. :)

bugssssss fix eh? :P

try this with this deluge release..while deluge window is active, click once on deluge taskbar button to minimize it..see what happen..

one more, there's one thing that they havent been able to fix in deluge win since it was first released..the preferences dialog..shouldn't it be 'modal' ? unless you want users to be able to open as many preferences dialog windows they want..please fix that

thanks anyway for this release! :D

modal? no. it's not even modal in linux. opening up multiple preferences can easily be fixed, though. i'll put it on my todo :)

Just wanted to say:
Great Job!

I have found deluge to be able to "work around" my ISP's TS, and i'm very pleased with it.

Keep up the good work.

Lots of bugs still.
(and the bugs I'm having weren't there in the previous releases - this is the first time something weird is showing up in my PC)

When minimizing by clicking on the tray bar, the program minimizes and then automatically maximizes. Clicking on the minimize button works fine.

The Worst for me is that it starts showing up blank context menus over the screen (on "top", blocking whatever's under it).
This never happened before...
I still haven't found what causes it. But one time, I was changing preferences, then minimized - and when maximized it popped up 4 or 5 dialog windows I had already closed.

Something's very wrong in those dialog and context menu management. :(

Update: Just started the program, added a couple of torrents (drag 2 .torrents to deluge window), and then minimized it by clicking the minimize button.
The main window minimizes, but I also get a "fake" minimized title bar on the bottom of the screen, with a blank context menu in there as well.

Update 2: By maximizing/minimizing more times, I start getting even more "fake" windows... meaning, I need to close the program and restart it every 5 or 6 minimize cycles, or I'll end up without any free desktop space.

Update 3: Definitely has something to do with the context menus, when I press right mouse button to send a torrent "to top/bottom", those "phantom" blank windows move around to the location of the last context popup menu.

Well on my end at this v0.5.7.1-2, there's not much biggies other than this not so light of an annoyance of this particular GUI snafu. 'Deselected' columns like time remaining, availability and share ratio can't seem to go away at all since the beginning of v0.5.7?

Other than that, dl speeds are still excellent as always, upload limits (same goes when there's no limit set) are usually hit with near consistency and I'm experiencing zero crashouts so far.

A way to avoid those 'fake windows' I found is to just use the close button, with the setting to minimize to task bar.

At least for me, it doesn't make it disappear.
The "good" news is that it seems to only show the maximum of 3 fake windows (one for each contextmenu, sub-context, etc.)
SO, I just "re-arrange them to be nearly off screen and it stays there most of the time - until I maximize deluge and they go to the "last known position" of the context menus again (if I right click on anything).

This should be a simple fix - as It never happened before... some cleaning up that was forgotten, maybe?

Same errors as above posters with those strange windows, and i also noticed that "*Close dbus-daemon-deluge.exe in Vista" is not working, i use Vista Ultimate 32 bit and after i close deluge that process is still open :)
