Try removing any torrents from your list that uses open trackers. I noticed that if I keep only private tracker torrents seeding everything is OK, but as soon as I add something from open trackers, let's kickass, the UI starts to freeze up.

Hi Guys,

Long time user first time poster. Came here for the exact same issue, running Windows 7 SP1 64bit. Freezes every 10 secs. Running 1.3.11. Anyway to get you more info?

Best I can say is I updated at the start of the week 1.3.11 and started it up immediately, was working 100% the whole week running it straight with no closing or shutdown. Yesterday I turned my pc off for a bit. Now when I started up Deluge is freezing every 10sec. No idea why. I restarted he app and my pc a few times but seems like a persistent problem.

Any ideas? I'm gonna try downgrading, hopefully that works. Will let you know.

Ok just downgraded to 13.10 and now it's working perfect. No more freezing every 10sec... how odd.

So there is indeed something in 1.3.11 that is not present in 1.3.10 that is causing the freezing.

Let me know if there is any data I can collect from my system that may assist in pin pointing the problem.

I switched to Deluge a couple months ago and installed the latest version 1.3.11. I took it with a grain of salt that there might be performance issues. I noticed a ton of (Not Responding) problems with the UI. Whether you are removing a torrent or using the file menu to quit, consistently the UI gives not responding. I finally went looking for a solution when no new version has come out lately, only to find this forum. After reading, I used IOBit Uninstaller to cleanly remove Deluge. I then installed version 1.3.10. 2 days later, I have had 0 issues and my torrent speeds are faster. No clue what is causing the 1.3.11 issues, but they are not present in 1.3.10.

First time user of Deluge here,

Just got the newest version 1.3.11, fresh install, and I am experiencing the exact same problems listed here; Using Windows 7 x64. Constant UI freezes whenever I do anything, definitely not my PC as I have an i7 4790k. I suppose I will downgrade to the last version as others here have tried. So far I was liking the app until it started freezing.

Hello everyone. Just wanted to mention a few related things mostly the work being done to update to PyGI/GTK3: https://github.com/doadin/deluge/tree/develop-pygi . I am currently kind of stuck trying to figure a few things out that need to be updated. Info on that can be seen here: https://github.com/doadin/deluge/issues/3 . Also the related ticket i have open: http://dev.deluge-torrent.org/ticket/2743 .

If you look around those you can see i have the UI starting a some of the UI's elements do work, however a few big issues dont work for example selecting a torrent in the torrent list(big issue lol) however some smaller things like the file menu and about dialog preferences...are working. If i remeber right i think it has something to do with path_combo_chooser.py? maybe not anywho the progress can be seen in that branch and the pull request to my own branch here: https://github.com/doadin/deluge/pull/1 .

What i would like to do is get deluge updated to GTK3 so we can get the UI maybe at least a bit more stable and less cpu intensive. Then start working on some of the bugs in the UI thats currently pressent.(at least the ones seen in the dev branch of deluge) Then once we have this like base line established we can start working on new features and stuff like that. Im not a official dev or anything but thats what id like to see/do. However like i said at least as far as converting to GTK3 i need some help.

If anyone wants to/can please feel free to PM me or fork my github branch and make pull requests. Any help would be much appreciated.

PS/ side note:Also for anyone looking at the pull request also i do plan on cleaning it up and making it one commit before submiting to the deluge repo because it also needs to be checked to make sure it meets deluges standards for how the code should be written. (just trying to get stuff working first)

Helping out is a bit beyond what I can do at the moment, but I do appreciate someone continuing to work on it.

I am having the same issues on Windows 7 Home Premium 64bit, default install. I was using the same version on Win7 HP (32bit) and don't remember having these issues. Could there be something going on between GTK and Win7 (64bit) window manager? I remember reading somewhere that they use different WMs between the two.

I am using Windows 7 Home Premium 64 bit, all Windows updates, desktop pc with 1.3.11 daemon + client running and laptop pc with 1.3.11 client running and have not noticed any freezing issues.

I have been using a custom updated libtorrent since almost the beginning though. Not sure if that makes a difference.

This is still not fixed in Deluge 1.3.12.
Windows 7 64bit -> Deluge GTK UI is freezing every 10s for the 10s duration.
This issue forced me to downgrade to v. 1.3.10 again.
