Keep this project alive!

Post by mvitto »

Hi community!
First of all excuse me for my bad english.
I would write this note, to tell all that I think Deluge is a very promising project.
For me, if we consider only the client with also a WEB Gui, it is the unique alternative to the original BitTorrent client and its derivative.
I found in this category also:

-ABC, but unfourtunately this project seems to be not more developed ; infact latest version was released in 2005 (http://pingpong-abc.sourceforge.net/download.php)
-Azureus, but I do not like the way its development group chosen with the VUZE (Azureus v3.0) Client (http://azureus.sourceforge.net/)
-TorrentVolve, but it is still an immature project (http://torrentvolve.sourceforge.net/)
-µTorrent, but this is now free but closed source software, and I don not like closed source software (http://www.utorrent.com/)

Deluge is free and open source (no bad surprise in its code), has a WEB Gui to control remotely the server, as well an IP blocklist feature that allows us to not install PeerGuardian, and finally it is based on the Python programming language.

So I think that the community would keep alive this project, and invest to it.
Thank very much to anyone contribute to the development of this really powerfull software.
