Announce sent interval?

Is it normal for the announce to send a request almost every minute, most of them say next announce between 30 minutes to 2 hours? And it also clears the active seeds and peers every time it sends an announce. This is very bad.

I've been getting a maximum of about 30 connections before it seemingly resets and starts back at 0 again every minute. Currently have it set to 150 on max connections...

It appears to be working properly in 0.5.8.1 now.
