Queue-Settings

Post by KaRo »

I'm quite confused what the queue-settings would mean and could not find a decent description or FAQ-entry.
In Tab "queue settings" there are settings for "active torrents" and "seed"
What do the entries mean, what are they used for and what would be good settings?
For example, what means "seed time" or the ratio-settings? How they are affecting up/downloads?

Note: I'm not doing my own torrents, I'm just a common "leecher"-user

I know it is in general no good attitude to reply to the own post.
Nevertheless: is there nobody out there who could explain the queue-settings? If not I'm asking myself why there are settings for something nobody fully understands...

"leecher" = someone who hasn't got the entire torrent yet and is downloading/uploading
"seeder" = someone who has got the entire torrent and is just uploading it.
active = max num (leeching + seeding)

Seed time refers to how long you should spend seeding a torrent.
Ratio refers to how much you've downloaded / you much you've uploaded.
Most private trackers require you to maintain a ratio of 1 (i.e. upload the same amount as you've downloaded).
