Re: Why won't Deluge delete containing folders?

Further update to this. I've now installed and activated the plugin Delete Partials, although it never seems to stay installed... I'll raise that in the Plugins section. In any case, whether it's activated or not, my earlier presumption that an 'untouched' torrent folder would be blitzed completely ...

Why won't Deluge delete containing folders?

Hi all, I've just come back to Deluge after a year or so away using 'other torrenting software'. Wow, it's really moved on a lot - am loving it! My system is a Ubuntu headless server (at the moment 12.04) and I'm running Deluge daemon 1.3.5. I have a peculiar query, but one that I'm hoping someone h...

Re: Installing 1.2.3 in Ubuntu instead of 1.3.0

have added the PPA as outlined in the instructions on that page.

But when I go to Synaptic Package Manager and search for Deluge, it offers me 1.3.0, nothing else.

Installing 1.2.3 in Ubuntu instead of 1.3.0

Folks, My server is running 1.2.3 quite happily, and I'd like my Ubuntu 10.10 laptop to run 1.2.3 as well. But if I select Deluge via Software Centre it gives me 1.3.0, which will connect to my daemon on the server but won't correctly display the torrents. Is there a simple way for me to install 1.2...

Re: Changing deluge-daemon's user

Er, no, that doesn't work. Please, please, please can someone help with this? If I don't add the user deluge and install the deluged and deluge-webui, it doesn't even create an auth file... I'm that far away. Has ANYONE managed to install deluge-daemon and run it as their own user - i.e. any user ap...

Changing deluge-daemon's user

Hi all,

I've given up trying to get deluge's UMASK function to work, so I just want to run it as my own user - john.

Am I right in thinking that to achieve this, I should just be able to change the DELUGED_USER in my /etc/default/deluge-daemon file?

Kind regards,

Re: File permissions

Anyone? Surely I can't be the only person who runs deluge as its own user but who wants to be able to login as myself - either ssh or via a samba share - and move the downloaded files around?

I just can't get my head around why giving it a UMASK of 002 doesn't work...

Re: File permissions

Sorry to bounce this, but can anyone explain why having UMASK=002 in the my deluge-daemon init.d file wouldn't give my deluge's group write access on any files it creates? And failing that, can someone explain how I run Deluge as my own user? If it can't write files in a permissions format that allo...

Re: File permissions

Okay, so I just changed the line in my init.d script to read... UMASK=0 or UMASK=000 ..and the folders that Deluge creates are drwxr-xr-x, and the files contained within those folders are -rw-r--r-- Has anyone any idea why this should be the case? The UMASK command in the init.d script is clearly be...

Re: The "Thanks for developing deluge" thread

Many thanks for all your hard work. Deluge has been just the ticket for my home server, with every feature I need and a small footprint.

Using the daemon remotely via a client on my laptop rocks, too!

Thanks again.
