I noticed this too, again related to Firefox not sandboxing each tab, but in my case having ~30 tabs open (with TMP extension) can cause the other tabs to browse like treacle, while Deluge-web is in background. Not a big deal for me since I use chrome as well.

Twice now I have had problems with torrents that have been downloading slowly reporting different progress percentage to the actual amount on data downloaded for the file. it seems to me that you have the fix to your problem backwards, i.e. have you asked here for support getting 1.2.1 running on your linux system?
