Weird. No idea why that was happening. What ended up fixing it, was deleting the old ebuild, doing layman -S and an emerge --sync and then remerging the package. Well, as the post indicates, I am doing nothing other than a emerge -av deluge I wondered why portage is pulling in the older version, but I figured it must be a base version that is patched up to 0.5.7.1, guess not then. Really I have absolutely no idea why portage pulls in 0.5.6.2 rather than 0.5....
