Currently 1.3.0 client is not compatbile with 1.2.x server, because some RPC method signatures have changed (e.g. to support diff status updates and conserve bandwidth).

In the past 2 weeks I was working on a deluge-qtui prototype - a perfect clone/rewrite of gtkui done with PyQt. I'm planning to release within a week or two.
