No problem, and thanks for the explanation.
If no one else comes forth, I'm willing to install ubuntu on a second box or "virtual PC" just to try it out.
Meanwhile, I'll be giving that svn thing a look.

Re: Traffic Shaping bypassing?
Care to be a bit more explicit on how to do that? I'm a programmer myself, but never actually worked with those "multi-developers/versions" tools (if I'm not mistaken about what svn is) Also, I'm running the windows version, which might complicate matters a bit more (and since the 5.8.0 ve...

Re: Changing default Windows skin to uBuntu (?)
as of 0.5.8.1, windows uses clearlooks skin, which most users find to be very sexy. i've yet to hear a single complaint about 0.5.8.1's skin on windows I complain!!! :) I now I'm probably on the "minority" side, but I really think the old look was for more readable, the pattern and gradie...

Re: Traffic Shaping bypassing?
I think that best option is to vote with your money. Change ISP and get ISP that doesn't filter traffic or shape it. Often those smaller competitors also offer cheaper connections than big mainstream players using traffic shaping, net sensorship. If your (what ever) service provider does something ...

0.5.8.2 Crashes
I left 5.8.2 running yesterday, it was crashed in the morning. Now, whenever I run it I get an error after a few seconds - everytime. (Never had crashing problems till version 0.5.8.0) Error report attached. Don't know if it helps but when it crashes, next time the torrent list order is all messed u...

Re: Traffic Shaping bypassing?
it's a cat and mouse game. if we could always stay ahead, we would...but it isnt too easy, considering we need to remain compatible with every other bittorrent client. especially since we're open source and they can see exactly what we're doing :P we'll keep playing the game. we'll tweak what we ca...

Re: Traffic Shaping bypassing?
Well, I wasn't talking about this for my own personal advantage - many thousands of users already being blocked by these practices, in many different countries. Worst thing is, most ISPs don't even admit to doing it. I've been sending them emails for over 4 months, with data packet logs showing thei...

Traffic Shaping bypassing?
(Not sure about the right place to ask this question - if this isn't the proper place please feel free to move it to the proper place) A few months ago, my ISP started implementing traffic shaping/packet filtering to mess torrent traffic. All "well-known" torrent programs failed to get ove...

Re: 0.5.8.1 fails to run
0.5.8.2 fixed the problem for me. It runs fine now. Minor issues: i think the "striped" background color pattern on the "progress bars" harms readibilty a bit... but I guess its a matter of personal preferences... (Maybe they can consider an option to "tone down" all th...

Markybob, any ideas on what might be causing the problem?
Any ETA for a possible fix?
