Isn't there a way to launch a shutdown event (i.e. : power button pressed) that can be processed by gdm/kdm ?

A notification when adding new torrents would be nice, too. I use Deluge as default manager, and when downloading a torrent it adds it to the list (or at least it should). Nothing fancy .. just "TorrentName was added to the download list".

Remaining size, started time and stuff like that are missing .. It shouldn't be that hard to add them ... I think.

I would like that too!! Maybe you can use the conditions set for seeding, not only downloading.
