Just to add to the confusion, last time I encountered this issue, disabling Nat-pmp and upnp "solved" the issue but this time, I tried deselecting those options but still encountered the problem. I've tried disabling upnp on the Deluge client and left nat-pmp selected...at first, no luck.....

Hi I am using Private Internet Access with port forwarding active and trying to reflect this in the network settings for Deluge but I am unfortunately encountering an issue whereby if I try to set a particular port, say 47753, and then hit "Apply", Deluge will set the port being forwarded ...

Turns out that that Nat-PMP was the culprit. Disabling this in the client stops Deluge from assigning the wrong port.
