Re: Deluge causes conflict with Samba or disk driver
A bad block is a physical problem. As all the software layer use the OS storage stack I don't see how this can be misused. But the way you power the drives (USB for RPI) can :). You can safely power an SSD (not the last NVMe however) but HDD tends to consume more power with ages. Try to use self pow...

Re: Deluge causes conflict with Samba or disk driver
This should be a fixable problem but points to a block issue indeed. It should not comes from the usage but well a damage/bad block. you'll find guidance on the net for this, most of the time a smartctl to have a first report then a write to the concerned block so the disk swap it with an available ...

Re: ”Too many open files”
The super seeding mode is based on a heavy server, I never blindly using it but it inspires some settings change. Does it occurs w/o this profile applied? On Linux you have a limit for each user about the number of files opened. It may be a lead about such and need to be check on the computer runnin...

Re: Deluge causes conflict with Samba or disk driver
Hi,
I use samba with torrent for years w/o issue so far. My first guess regarding your behaviour is a bus reset on the USB, where the external disks reside. This will explain why the share are gone (disconnection). Check with "sudo dmesg -T" for anyhting related to disk when it happens

Re: Optimal settings for reducing SSD wear and tear
No problem to use the default settings, the preallocate is not checked If I'm not wrong. But you would double check that. About the cache since libtorrent 2.X it's no more relevant, the cache management is dropped at the application to the benefit of the OS cache management. (OS managed now so). Onc...

Re: Optimal settings for reducing SSD wear and tear
Hi,
For an SSD disable preallocate and don't do defrag but check if trimming is done regularly. Most of the time defrag is replaced by trimming when a defrag is triggered but it depends of the OS.

Re: Help with Router setup
Hi,
Your incoming port should be configured in Deluge as the NIC to use. This should be authorized WAN->IP of the server
Then for outgoing is often not filtered but you can configure it too in Deluge and your firewall

Re: add downloaded files back to Deluge
Hi, Not backward compatible so far I know, so if you have a backup of the user's profile running Deluge 1.3.x you should be able to stop the Deluge process and restore the /state folder. Another solution is to put back all .torrent file downloaded in the auto-add folder to load them all again, pause...

Re: Deluge cannot write
hi,
As root create a folder on the large ext4 partition and with chown command assign your user/group to it (the one of your login user). Check with "ls -al" you get well your user/group and the assigned permission.
In Deluge change the downbload folder to this new path and it should work

Re: I cannot get the active ports tested on new PC
Get late on this but as a piece of advise: - Disable UPNP in Deluge settings and your router (Security recommendation anyway) - Set your computer with a fix IP - Configure a port forwarding on your router with ports >50000 and points it to the computer fixed IP. Example: 55444-55454 TCP and UDP - Co...
