Re: Downgrade to repository libtorrent (ubuntu 14.04LTS)
Maybe you missed a package? Try dpkg-query -l "*torrent*" | grep ^ii to check. For example, when I try that, I get ii libtorrent-rasterbar7 0.16.17-1ubuntu3~ppa1~trusty amd64 C++ bittorrent library by Rasterbar Software ii libtorrent-rasterbar8 1.0.1-1~ppa1~trusty amd64 C++ bittorrent libr...

Use "apt-get install <packagename>=<version>" to force a version different from the latest.

Re: Deluge 1.3.7 very low upload speed
Baah. That's just way too much to wade through. Is there a set of reasonable defaults for a high bandwidth connection? Most advice you find on torrent clients' websites is for low bandwidth connections.

Re: Deluge 1.3.7 very low upload speed
Well, I gave Transmission (2.82/2.84) a try for a few days, and the difference is amazing. No connect-disconnect problem, most clients start downloading after connecting, and even if they don't the connection stays for several minutes at least, not <20s. And download speeds are also a lot higher. No...

Re: Deluge 1.3.7 very low upload speed
Hmm, maybe my slow upload speed is not related then, as I've had that since, I dunno, at least 0.16.13, probably much longer.

Re: Deluge 1.3.7 very low upload speed
I don't use any torrent clients other than Deluge, so I can't compare, but I have often wondered why nearly all downloaders seem to have dialup internet or something. I have a 100MB/s fiber line myself, so I'd expected to be one of the most popular seeders. Not so. Hardly anyone connects at all (or ...

Re: Setting incoming port based on script output.
Passing the output of port.sh through tr -d -c [:digit:] will remove all characters except digits.

Re: Ubuntu PPA for libtorrent 1.0
I'm using the new libtorrent-rasterbar8 now. The client name is indeed missing it seems. Other than that it works just like 0.16.17. Which is a little disappointing. I was hoping the problem with connections not actualizing would be solved in this version :( Ah well, that's not your fault I guess. T...

Re: Ubuntu PPA Update
It's been over a month. Have you found your round tuit yet? Libtorrent-rasterbar 1.0.1 has a lot of improvements over 0.16.17 too.

Re: Ubuntu 14.04 - How to install 1.3.7
The PPA doesn't have anything beyond Quantal (Ubuntu 12.10) and that too is only 1.3.6.
