Deluge stops responding any time I add torrent

Hi all, sorry if this was posted before, I tried looking and didn't see it. Didn't see anything about it in the FAQ either.
I've wanted to switch to Deluge for a long time. I have downloaded it several times, and when I add a torrent (usually via magnet link), Deluge will start downloading for a second, and then stop responding. It will not come out of this, and must be force closed.
Am I somehow doing something wrong?
