Deluge Monopolizing Computer

Post by JXBlack »

I run a lot of torrents and a few of them are large. When I am forced to re boot my machine it takes 6-7 hours for Deluge to complete checking all my torrents and getting up to full speed. I don't mind this except that deluge literally takes over my machine and I am having difficulty in running any other programs. I don't have the fastest chip but it's not the slowest either...AMD Phenom II x 4 940 and I have 4 GB of ram.

Is their anything can do to regain control.

Thanks

Assuming you shut down deluge properly every time... I don't believe it should have to recheck every torrent.
But anyway, you should be able to set the thread priority on the deluge process to less-than-normal and it will give you back control of most of your computer... but keep in mind it is still doing recheck and it will take longer to recheck depending on how processor intense the 'other' programs you run simultaneously are.

Open task manager to set thread priority.
